Coming soon! Musical dissection
Musical dissection, as I call it, will soon be a new set of blog posts on Thought Box. Each post will focus on a piece from Classical literature (sorry, pop music fans, I’m not too big on that stuff).
Basically, I will find a piece of music anywhere from the Baroque to the Contemporary literature time span. There will be a background on the piece, background on the composer, a Youtube video of a performance, and a measure-by-measure analysis.
Now you may be questioning, “what gave you the idea to do this?”

Reblogs now a feature in WordPress!
As you may have noticed, from time to time I reblog posts from other websites. What’s great now is that WordPress now knows that “we all like to reblog.” Therefore, they’ve added a “like” button.
Congrats WordPress. One small step for you and one giant advancement for the rest of us ![]()
Google redesigns itself
It’s not just the search interface that’s redesigned, even the Google logo has been given an extra coat of gloss. Look at the before and after:
Before:

After:
Look closely and you’ll see the differences. Actually, the Google logo on the homepage itself hasn’t changed, but on the Images, Video, etc. pages it has.
Now about the main part of Google Search’s redesign: the search itself. Look at the new design:

It’s absolutely clear that this is a much friendlier interface and is much neater. Now I can finally breathe.
But wait, doesn’t the layout look quite familiar? Perhaps you’ve used Yahoo! or Bing. Let’s take a look at that…
…and Bing:
Notice anything? They all have similar sidebars! Looks like Google finally responded to Bing (and Yahoo) and advanced their search.
Apple employee “loses” iPhone at bar. Could this be a planned leak?
Today, there was a story circulating about the Interwebs about an Apple employee who “accidentally” left an iPhone at a bar. The iPhone was found by Gizmodo (who wrote a post here), taken apart, analyzed, and then returned to the employee. Was the iPhone really forgotten? I don’t think so. There must be a reason for the Apple employee leaving the iPhone at the bar. Read the rest of this entry
New Blog Commenting Policy
Due to the large number of spam comments, it is necessary to make a change to the blog commenting policy. Read the rest of this entry
Twitter gets another redesign
According to Twitter, the new homepage brings more info about trending topics to the front lines. I totally agree with that. The previous redesign made Twitter a lot simpler, almost too simple. This time, they got it right. Read the rest of this entry
Quick Look: Twitter flashcards
What are Twitter flashcards? You may not know, because they were introduced very recently.
To the left is a screenshot. Basically, whenever you scroll over someone’s name, whether it be in a mention or before the actual tweet, one of these will pop up. You can follow the person, unfollow, and see their statistics as shown to the left. It’s a very helpful tool since you don’t have to go directly to their user page to view all this.
Some apps, like Echofon for Firefox, already have this feature, but it’s not as good.
New Blog Reading Layout
It’s not really a layout, but we’re changing a few things, thanks to a suggestion by blog reader Matt Ventura. From now on, posts will have a “Read More” link (unless these are short posts or Quick Look) and there will be displayed ten posts per page. Hopefully, this gives the reader a more insightful look into the blog instead of just narrowly viewing a few articles.
